07 · Backup & Disaster Recovery

If you haven't restored from your backups in 90 days, you don't have backups. You have hope.

We design, run and rehearse backup and disaster recovery for businesses that can't afford to find out their backups don't work on the worst day of the year.

The Take

How we think about Backup & Disaster Recovery.

Backups fail quietly. Ransomware finds the ones that don't. The only proof that a backup exists is a restore, performed, timed, signed off. Our 3-2-1-1-0 standard means three copies, two media, one offsite, one immutable, zero failed restore tests in the last quarter.

What we deliver

Capabilities.

01

Backup strategy & design

RPO and RTO defined per workload, not a flat policy. Email, files, databases, M365, endpoints, SaaS.

02

Immutable & offsite copies

Object-lock cloud copies that ransomware can't touch. Geographically separate from production.

03

Microsoft 365 backup

Mail, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, third-party backup, because Microsoft's retention isn't a backup.

04

Server & VM backup

Hyper-V, VMware, physical Windows and Linux. Application-aware, encrypted, deduplicated.

05

Endpoint & laptop backup

For executives and travelling teams, files, OneDrive sync, encrypted at rest.

06

Tested restores

Quarterly restore drills with a written report. Not a green tick on a dashboard.

07

DR runbooks

Step-by-step recovery procedures for each scenario, with contact trees and decision points.

08

DR site & failover

Where it's warranted, hot/warm DR environments in Azure or a second UAE region.

Commonly asked

FAQ.

How often do you test restores?
Quarterly for managed clients, with a documented report. Annually at minimum for everyone else.
Are M365 backups really necessary?
Yes. Microsoft replicates data, they don't backup against deletion or ransomware. Our standard build always includes a third-party M365 backup.
What's your RTO?
Defined per workload. Critical systems are typically <4 hours; tier-2 systems <24 hours; archives <72 hours. Your RTO drives the design.
Can you handle cyber-insurance audits?
Yes, we produce the evidence pack insurers ask for: backup architecture, immutability proof, restore test results, MFA on consoles.
